Befitting reply on borders, Centre's clear K-policy frustrates terror kingpins | Pak running short of ideas to carry on with proxy war | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 14: After failing to push in the militants into Jammu and Kashmir due to strong counter infiltration grid at place, Pakistan resorted to repeated ceasefire violations across the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) but the befitting reply given by the soldiers deployed there has left the Pakistan army high and dry, now it's looking for other means to keep on fighting the proxy war with India, analysts believe. While talking to Early Times defence analysts said the changed policy of the Narendra Modi led government at the Centre has had cascading impact over the people, who were at the forefront of fighting the ongoing proxy war with India which has been on since 1990. "Desperation of the militants and their bosses can be gauged from the fact that they are now asking Pakistan's political leadership to rake up Kashmir at the international level," they said. Referring to the latest statement of Sartaj Aziz, advisor to Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, that talks cannot be held with India without Kashmir, the analysts said,: "Pakistan has realized that it has lost the proxy war which it had launched against India 25-years ago. Now it's raking up Kashmir again and again to attract the attention of the international community, which too has distanced itself from the issue." He said Pakistan leaders, including Aziz, should realize that India is not interested in talking to Pakistan till ceasefire violations stop and it stops allowing its soil for being used to unleash terror against India. "Defence Minister Manohar Parikar has made it clear to Pakistan. Another point which Modi government has conveyed to international community, including Pakistan, that Jammu and Kashmir is India's integral part and no talks can be held over it," the analysts added. It's astounding that Pakistan is not ready to learn from the mistakes it has committed in the past. The barbaric massacre of school children in Karachi sent shock waves across the world and it served as an eye-opener for those who were patronizing terror, they opined. "Pakistan should forget Kashmir and concentrate on the problems it's facing otherwise the day is not far when it would disappear from the world map," said a retired army officer. He was of the opinion that NATO troops pulling out of Afghanistan can spell doom over Pakistan as Taliban are capable of creating havoc there and they have made their intentions clear. "Our Army Chief recently said that spill over can even reach Jammu and Kashmir, and soldiers cannot lower the guard. I have full faith in Indian Army. It's capable of foiling any misadventure but as far as Pak Army is concerned it has failed to tame the terrorists and they are calling shots there," the officer added. He advised Pakistan Army to put its act together to contain the "home grown terror" and forget Kashmir. "If they fail to do so they would end up in a mess and India will have to live alongside a violent neighborhood," he added.
