Billawar, Jan 14: Setting an exemplary example for others to follow, the senior BJP leader and MLA from Billawar , Dr Nirmal Singh today became the first for surrendering his subsidized LPG cylinder connection. Dr Singh has followed the category of Arun Jaitley, Dharmendra Pradhan , Piyush Goel for not using subsidized cylinders for the welfare of the under privileged people. Announcing his decision, Dr Nirmal Singh said, " I have followed examples set by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan , Power Minister Piyush Goel in supporting the drive to get affluent consumers who can afford non subsidized LPG connection to stop using subsidized LPG. "Subsidy should go to the poorest of the poor, he said adding, "I am of the belief that affluent who can afford to buy market price LPG, should voluntarily give up subsidized connection. This culture is now being followed in India by many .Let us do it in Jammu & Kashmir also". Earlier BJP MLA, Dr Singh toured Mandli , Phinter , Dhudwara , Deoli areas of Billawar constituency and reaffirmed people that promises made to them will be fulfilled and BJP will soon form a stable government in Jammu & Kashmir which will work for the masses. He reiterated that efforts will be made to make Dudwara - Shallan road a Highway. |
