Mendhar, Jan 14: A meeting of district Tehsil Task Force for Intensified Pulse Polio immunization Programme 2015 was held at the SDH conference Hall mendhar tehasil under the chairmanship of SDM Mendhar Ramesh Kumar.
According to press release, the Block Medical Officer Mendhar Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan apprised the members about the comprehensive strategy and joint action plan to be adopted during the first round of Intensified Pulse Polio immunization Programme scheduled from January 18th to 20, so as to cover every single child less than five years of age.
He informed the chairman that the estimated population of the children below five years in all the health blocks of mendhar comes to be 21763 for which 126 Vaccination Booths have been established.
A total number of 126 Booth team members that include 74 Anganwari workers, voluntary workers, 504 health workers and 128 ASHA workers have been identified. For 25- supervisors and two mobile teams and will be pressed into service.
A total number of 27200 Oral Polio Vaccines (OPV) doses would be required for the first round in all the health blocks of Mendahr.
The chairman directed the Health Department to impart necessary training to the workers so that an effective campaign is ensured. He called upon the members to strictly ensure that each and every child under five years gets the polio drops and special emphasis be given to far flung rural areas. The other members of the Task Force who were present in the meeting included all tehasil officers and SHO Mendhar besides representatives of various govt. departments. |
