Police receives 'afresh' complaint in 'Conman case"

Jammu, Jan 14: In a latest development in Conman held for sexual harassment', one more complaint was received by the Janipur police which is probing the case against the conman.
"The conman identified namely as Amarnath Sharma was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly made a bid to outrage the modesty of a woman in Janipur, police said.
Police sources said that in a new turn today a man along with his son lodged afresh complaint with police against the above mentioned accused alleging that his wife (name withheld) has been hypnotized by accused and she was staying with him (conman) for last few years. Police sources said that following fresh complaint, Police have started fresh investigation in this regard.
During the preliminary investigations, it came to fore that that the conman is an employee of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and presently is posted in the Engineering Wing.
When contacted Sushma Chouhan, Vice Chairman JDA, said that she had ordered khilaf Warzi (Enforcement) officer to obtain the copy of FIR from Police Station Janipur then the department will go ahead with legal action including suspension. "Suspension is not a punishment and the department is also going to initiate disciplinary action against the accused", said JDA Vice Chairman added.
On Monday a woman seeking some resolve to some domestic problems was called by above said conman Amarnath Sharma at his residence to offer worship of a Goddess. "The woman earlier also visited a number of times to the conman for redressal of her problematic life, police added.
According police case the victim has alleged that accused asked the woman to stand naked before the idol of Goddess and then started taking advantage of the situation. Complainant also has alleged that when she objected, he tried to outrage her modesty, police said quoting complainant.
Following the complaint police have registered a case under FIR u/s 354 RPC against the accused and investigations have been started.
