Conference of School Principals concludes at JPS | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 20: CSP 2015 today concluded at Jodhamal Public School in which 172 Principals and Directors from all over India congregated for this to discuss the agenda "Assessments- A Compelling Priority". The Conference started with the lighting of the lamp by Nirmal Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, School Education; Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee Jodhamal Public School and Teachersity Consultant and Director Principals Forum, Col B.S. Braria. The opening session was taken up by Dimple Anil from Teacher Sity and she made it very clear that the Formative Assessment has to be a continuous one and corrective measures are to be taken simultaneously whereas Summative Assessment is like the end result. The second session was taken by Col. Braria on Why should we assess, what should we assess, how should we assess, when should we assess and how do we use the assessment results? He explained since the assessment tells as to where the child stands, how the child is progressing and also it helps in deciding the teaching learning practices for the improved student learning. Robin Attfield from U.K. stressed on the data to be authentic it has to be collected continuously and by using variety of tools and techniques we can assess the learner's progress of learning. He stressed on feed forward approach and said looking into future rather than the past, focusing on solutions rather than mistakes, reinforcing the possibility of change and enhancing self image are some of the main points in feed forward approach. The open house was taken by Om Pathak the Director TeacherSity, New Delhi and he answered the queries of each and every delegate to their satisfaction. The closing session was chaired by Director School Education, Ch. R.A. Inqalabi and Principal Jodhamal Trilok Singh Bist closed the CSP with an activity. Vote of thanks was proposed by Col.
