Defeated Kashmiri forces scheming to keep Jammu out of power | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 20: Defeated and rejected parties in the valley are covertly helping forces in raking up the issue of the West Pakistan Refugees and project BJP as a communal with twin objectives of the keeping BJP out of the power and getting in power from back door. The issues of the settlement of the West Pak refugees is an humanitarian issue and it is for this reason the parliamentary standing committee had recommended that they should be given rights to settle down. The rejected forces used these recommendations as tool to pitch Kashmir against Jammu and covertly funded and pressurised forces to raise voice against these recommendation. It was done with the sole aim of the forcing the PDP not to enter into an alliance with the BJP, which has been given mandate by the Jammu. The Kashmir centric, though rejected, are using this as a ploy to keep hegemony of the Kashmir alive. They are forcing PDP to enter into an alliance with Congress and NC. These two parties don't have a mandate from the Jammu region. The Congress which doesn't have a single Hindu elected representative, is too much pliable. Though some Jammu based leader raked up the issues of this region, but its high command had always supported the Kashmir based leadership. It thus allowed Jammu to play a second fiddle. The NC which has been given its worst defeat by the people didn't have much concern for the Jammu. The party had traditionally treated the Jammu as second class citizen and also used the tool of terrorism to stay alive in the power. In trying to stay relevant, it is using the card of separatism with a mask of being a van guard of Kashmiri people. It extended the support to the PDP to project before the people that it sacrificed power to keep alive the hegemony of the Kashmir and then use this plank to find the political space in the Kashmir. But, this all these tactics and moves are bound to be counter productive as keeping the BJP which means Jammu out of the power will have strong reaction as Jammu is in rebellion mood. |
