KATHUA, Feb 8: Saabi Cricket Club Hoshiarpur and AMCC Gurgaon today sailed into the final of the ongoing Vth Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter-Club Twenty20 Cricket Championship at Sports Stadium, here. In the semifinals, played today, both the state teams left in the fray, J&K Police XI Srinagar and Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) Jammu, lost to Punjab teams. The top state club of KCCC beaten by AMCC Gurgaon by six wickets. Batting first, KCCC set a target of 101 runs for nine wickets. Pardeep Bali remained top scorer with 25 runs while Manik Gupta contributed 23-ball 23 runs. Sunil Dalal emerged as most successful bowler with three wickets. In reply, AMCC Gurgaon chased the target, rather easily, making 101 runs in 14.5 overs losing four wickets. Manoj (39 runs off 25 balls) and Raman (20) were main contributors to the total. For his all-round performance, Sunil Dalal was named man of the match to receive Rs 5100 cash prize. Meanwhile, Saabi Hoshiarpur, in the second semifinal, played today, had easy sailing against another local side of J&K Police XI Srinagar making it a five wickets win. Earlier, batting first, J&K Police made 91 runs losing all their wickets in 19 overs. Jalil Ahmed (21) and Ishtiaq (16) were main contributors to the total. Chetan was most successful bowler, who took four wickets for 19 runs in four overs. Later, Saabi Club attained the goal in 17.5 overs for five wickets. Naam Dev made unbeaten 22 runs off just eight deliveries to help the side made it an easy win. Kashish too batted well adding 22 runs to the total. For his four wickets haul, Chetan named man of the match to be given away Rs 5100 cash prize. |
