M S Nazki Early Times Report Poonch, Feb 8 : Despite infrastructure in place, at least six government schools lack faculty for teaching computer to Higher Secondary students in tehsil Mendhar Poonch district the six Government Higher secondary schools in the tehsil have computer facility but there is no faculty to teach the students. The schools, where there is no faculty for teaching computers, are Government Higher Secondary School Hahrni, Government Higher SecondarySchoolDargaloon, Government Higher Secondary School Ghani, Government Higher Secondary School, Government Higher Secondary School Bata Dhurin, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mendhar and Government Higher Secondary School Mankote. In all these schools, there are around 500 students who have been deprived from computer education. The computers and other lab infrastructure for these schools have been provided by army under Operation Sadhbavna, . They said the computers are gathering dust in labs from past 8 to 10 years. "But, despite introduction of computer subject, no post has been sanctioned for teaching faculty as permanent lecturer post or as contractual in all these years," sources said. Several students of these schools told excelsior that they have no access to computers and are unaware about its functioning. The irony doesn't end here. There isn't faculty for teaching EVS and physics in above the Higher Secondary schools as well as in Government Higher Secondary School Chattral, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Mendhar and Government Higher Secondary School Gursai Morie. In Higher Secondary Chhatral, there is no physics teacher in the institution since year 2011. When contacted Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch, ChowdharyLal Hussain said the matter has been taken up. "We have written to government about the posts," the CEO said. He, however, didn't speak further. |
