Radio Kashmir organizes Kisan Mela at Nud | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 19 : Radio Kashmir Jammu organized a day long Kisan Mela here at village Nud, District Samba in connection with Radio Kisan diwas. Radio has played a pivotal role in proliferation and preservation of agriculture. Addressing the gathering, Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu while addressing the gathering informed the listeners about Radio Kisan Diwas which is observed every year as an extension of our studio based programmes where, the experts are taken to a particular rural locality and the doubts of farmers are cleared face to face. Director Research SKAUST Chatha Dr.J.P.Sharma, Deputy Project Director ATMA Ashok Gupta, Horticulture Development Officer Samba Davinder Singh, SMS Agriculture Command Area Rattan Deep Bhardwaj was the experts on the occasion. The presentation of every expert was followed by a question answer session. The programme was attended by over a hundred farmers of the region who participated actively in the discussions on each and every topic. Progressive farmers of the region who participated in the programme included a mushroom grower Karan Singh, Dwarka Nath Sharma and many more. The programme was interestingly compared with a mixture of wit and humour by the stock characters of Kisan Wani programme, Rapti Ram and Tota ram. The focus areas of today's Radio Kisan Diwas included the farming of pulses and on horticulture. Programme officer of Farm and home Satish Malhotra addressed the gathering shedding light on the timely care of the crop and the role played by radio. The vote of thanks was presented by the Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu Vijay Kumar Sambyal. The participating farmers thanked the team of Radio Kashmir Jammu for bringing Radio and farming experts to their village and for the work done by Radio for the farmers. |
