| Health organizations condemn attack on PHC Bharath Staff | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Feb 19 : The various health organizations including JK Medical Employees Federation and NRHM Paramedical and Management Association of the District Doda condemned the attack on the staff of government run Public Health Center Barath in Block Ghat of Doda District by three locals on February 15,2015 after in charge PHC denied them access to watch India-Pakistan cricket match.
As per the details available with "Early times", the health employees of PHC Bharath and other health institutions of the Block Ghat also staged a protest other day in their respective hospitals and showed their great resentment over the attack on their colleague and demanding that the government should ensure safety of doctors and other paramedical staff working in different hosiptals. District President JKMEF Mehboob Kraipak said that the thrashings of health staff and vandalization of hospital building have now become a routine matter across the state, added that it is difficult for the Doctors and other staff to work in such hostile atmosphere. Spokesperson NRHM Paramedical and Management Association Faizan Tramboo while talking to "Early times" said that targetting hospitals and its staff is completely unacceptable and a serious violation of humanitarian laws. Tramboo further said that government has failed to ensure safety and security of health staff in hospitals that are under constant fear which will adversely affect the patient care.
He said that staff demanded installation of security guard in all hospital premises so as to provide the security to the doctors and other heath staff, beside further demanded exemplary punishment to the culprits involved behind Sunday's incident so that such incidents are not repeated again. The paramedicos warned to launch a distt level agitation in case the police failed to take a stern action against the erring persons.
It is pertinent to mention here that on 15th Feb 2015, some local miscreants, allegedly three in number entered the PHC Bharath and forcefully asked the staff members to allow them to watch India Pakistan cricket match in their residential quarter, the same denied by Medical Officer Dr. Shahid Bashir and Lab Assistant Shabir Ahmed which infuriated them and attacked staff on duty.
They also vandalzed a TV Set, Dish TV, Solar Plant and some mirros of the hospital besides pelted stones on them. |
