JKTF protests against adjustment of surplus masters in far-flung areas | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 19: Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) today staged protest demonstration against adjustment of surplus masters in far- flung areas here infront of Director School Education Jammu. According to press release, Forum chairman Abdul Qayoom Wani said that around hundreds of masters participated and to show the anguish and resentment against the recent order of adjustment of surplus masters. He further said that the Forum condemned the callous and adamant attitude of education authorities towards the just and genuine issues of the masters as they have already served in the far flung areas and now they have been posted in remote and inaccessible areas of other districts. The speakers warned the education authorities to withdraw the order immediately and adjust all the aggrieved masters/ lecturers suitably with the approachable distance from their residence, so that they could be able to serve the students more efficiently and with great dedication. " Raising the question of legitimacy of 165 masters promoted in Feb 2014 out of total 1100 masters on pick and choose basis by throwing all norms in wind", Wani said. If the education authorities fail to review the decision immediately the forum will be compelled to intensify agitation for the redressal of legitmate demands. Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, Soorat Singh Toofani, Ram Prasad and Subash Sharma were also present on the occasion. |
