Rajouri, Feb 22 : The second round of pulse polio campaign was launched in Block Darhal on Sunday.
Imam Jamia Masjid Darhal Hafiz Muhammad Sayeed launched the programme, senior citizens and PRI members were also present.
BMO Darhal Dr Iqbal Malik said that this is a three days programme, on first day, 133 polio booths were set up in all the localities to enable the parents to bring their children below the age of five for the administration of the pulse polio drops. During the next two days, 528 employees of health workers and volunteers drawn from different departments, ASHAs and Anganwadi workers, school teachers would visit each and every single house, even in the most far flung area to vaccinate the children
Chief Medical Officer Rajouri Dr Rajeev Sharma issued instructions to extend the programme in case the target is not achieved, he added. |
