Bashir Assad Early Times Report jammu, Feb 26: Laying all speculations about "last minute hitches" in forming the government in J&K to rest, People's Democratic Party patron, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed flew to New Delhi on Thursday afternoon to invite PM Modi for his swearing-in ceremony on March 1. "Mufti left his Jammu residence at 4 pm for Delhi and he will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on breakfast tomorrow," PDP sources said. Before leaving for Delhi, Mufti had a closed door meeting with the senior party leaders here at his residence. Earlier, there were reports of 'last time hitches' about Mufti-Modi meeting. "The last time hitch was about BJP's reluctance to meet Hurriyat leadership, which they have finally agreed," sources said. Sources said that after meeting Modi, Mufti will fly back to Jammu to finalize the list of his ministers. "BJP has already finalized its list however PDP is yet to take a final call about it," sources said. Earlier in the day PDP-BJP representatives met in New-Delhi for the last round of talks to settle some last time differences on the Common Minimum Programme, sources said on Thursday. They said the noted academician-turn-diplomat Amitabh Mattu who has been mediating the deal was also present in the meeting. "The meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, will now take place in the morning tomorrow," sources said. They said that the swearing-in ceremony is now sure to take place on Sunday in Jammu. . Sources said though the bottlenecks were removed yesterday evening, however, the two sides met again today to wet the CMP. The two parties are expected to govern Jammu and Kashmir on the basis of a CMP. They spent last two months to prepare the same. It would be for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that such parties with diametrically opposite ideologies would come together because of compulsions of power. There have only been positions, but no dialogue between those positions, but hopefully this alliance has opened the possibility of dialogue. |
