| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, one held | | | Udhampur, Feb 27: Police today foiled another bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one bovine smuggler and rescuing three bovine animals besides seizing one TATA Mobile vehicle during naka checking under jurisdiction of Udhampur Police Station. "The accused ahs been identified as Faruq s/o Sai Gujar of Dabry near Krimchi, police said. Police sources said, "During routine checking at near Jakhani National Highway, a TATA Mobile bearing registration No: JK02AW-9530 was stopped for routine checking.
"Police team found three bovine animals loaded in vehicle which were being illegally smuggled as the occupant of vehicle (driver) failed to produce requisite documents to transport animals, police said adding, "the driver of the vehicle was arrested on the spot.
