| Future of 2500 multipurpose male workers in darkness, no advertisement since long | | | Arun Trisal

Kathua, Feb 28 : Peeved multipurpose workers today staged huge protest demonstration against Health Department and NRHM where the protesters sought advertisement for job opportunity to all 2500 candidates who have completed their multipurpose worker diploma.
They lamented on partial attitude of the department as department several times advertised for female multipurpose workers but never advertised male workers who belonged to district Kathua.
In fact, Health department advertised for vacant posts without particularly mentioning about specific areas for which the posts were meant.
Hundreds of aspirants filled application forms against advertised posts and prepared for written examination. They were surprised when superintendent of examination centre today refused huge number of candidates to enter the examination hall and excused that the examination is meant for aspirants belonging to Bani Block. This triggered wrath among aspirants who later on staged protest demonstration against Chief Medical Officer Kathua, Director NRHM and alleged department to discriminate with large number of aspirants. While interacting to media, Varinder Sharma, an aspirant, said they submitted application form and today reached at examination centers but officers forbade their entry in examination Hall.
They alleged NRHM department to conduct written test for Bani block candidates and deliberately ignored others.
Suresh, another aspirant, said the department has never advertised for male multipurpose workers that pushed the future of 2500 male aspirants into darkness. He said a memorandum comprising demand was sent to Governor, Director Yash Paul and Union Health Minister JP Nadda but the action is yet to be taken in favor of frustrated aspirants of government jobs.
When contacted Chief Medical Officer, CMO Kathua, Raj Kumar, he disclosed that the department advertised for the multipurpose worker posts that was meant for Bani block but the department received more than 30 forms from Bani block, the department against advertise corrigenda where advertisement was referred to Bani block only that triggered wrath among other aspirants.
He said the department will advertise separately for other blocks. |
