| Ahead of historic day confusion, chaos prevails in BJP HQs | | Senior leaders have no access to Raj Bhawan | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 28: Even as the government and entire administration remained busy throughout the day today for giving final touches to preparations of a gala event of oath taking ceremony tomorrow, it was utter confusion and chaos that prevailed at the BJP headquarters till late in the evening, all thanks to mismanagement of the party leadership which could not handle the things in a better way.
The scene was that of hope and disappointment for many for the historic occasion for which the party leaders and workers have waited for decades in Jammu. It was hope in the sense that scores waited for hours to get passes and cards to attend the swearing in ceremony. And disappointment prevailed even among senior and well deserving leaders who failed to get the cards that would enable them to be a part of the historic ceremony for which many of them waited for nearly 40 years .
A visit to the BJP headquarters during the day showed it all- utter confusion and despair with those managing to get the 'ticket' for entry who are not in reckoning by any means nor in their capacities as any functionary. Many of these people who easily got the cards are not known to even lower rung cadres. The committed lot of workers who sweated it out during the polls and otherwise as well during the normal course of functioning, was today seen as a completely alienated lot with no one ready to listen.
Nor were they able to understand whom to contact or who was authorized to distribute the passes to bonafide people.
Disappointment was writ large on the faces of senior leaders of the party who felt embarrassed to see that lesser known lot had managed easily to get what they could not as a matter of right. This certainly happens only in BJP, the state unit of J&K. |
