Budget 2015 is old wine in new bottle: Manohar Lal Sharma | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 28 : Former Congress minister Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma today described the Union budget-2015 as hollow and anti-farmers and pro-corporate while using the common phrase-"its old wine in new bottle". "It was UPA government in center for 10 years when agricultural industry flourished but as far as the NDA government is concerned, there have been signs of stress and strain in the agriculture economy. NDA government is anti-people, anti-farmers, anti-youth and pro-corporate", said Manohar Lal Sharma. He said the budget was prepared keeping in mind the big industrialists, capitalists and not the common man. Sharma said that the union budget has nothing for the flood victims even who didn't receive the attention of union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Much hype was created over the special package for the flood victims by the government but situation is such that most of the flood victims are yet awaiting compensation in the state which is shameful on the part of union government. He further said that the prices of crude oil in the international market has tumbled to Rs. 45 per barrel from Rs. 120 barrel but the prices of petrol and diesel in the Indian markets is yet skyrocketing which is a concern for the common people. Union budget also lacks any special package for the education sector or further strengthening of existing infrastructure. "What could be more pathetic on the part of union government that the teaching staff recruited under the centrally sponsored schemes like RMSA and SSA sans salary for the last over nine months? Budget has nothing extraordinary as the backbone of the country i.e. over 70% farmers community is suffering in the hands of NDA government," Sharma said. |
