AIIMS in South Kashmir, IIM in Jammu 2/28/2015 11:25:19 PM Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 28 : Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Saturday announced that the government would set up branches of AIIMS or the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in five states, including Jammu and Kashmir. Currently only Delhi has an AIIMS hospital - which is one of the country's premier research and referral hospitals - and it caters to thousands of patients who come from all over the country.Jaitley also announced more IITs and IIMs, which are counted among the world's top engineering and management institutes. Another Indian Institutes of Technology or IIT will be set up in Karnataka and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will be set up in Jammu and Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh. Jaitley was presenting union budget 2015 in the parliament. According to sources AIIMS would be established in south Kashmir while as IIM would be established in Jammu. Reacting to the announcement former chief minister, Omar Abdullah immediately tweeted.
