Seminar on 'towards academic excellence in higher education' organized by SHC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 28: Sacred Heart College Paloura today organized state level seminar on the topic of "towards academic excellence in higher education' here at colleges primes. According to press release, Director Colleges Development Council University of Jammu professor Desh Bandu Gupta was the chief guest while Prof. Shallender Singh, HOD Department of history, University of Jammu, Prof. Ajeet Angral, Prof. G.Q Sheikh, Prof. Suman Thusoo, were the guest of honors on the occasion. Desirable Direction for Higher Education, towards quality Teacher Education, Teacher commitment for quality assurance in Higher Education are the sub themes of the topic. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Desh Bandu Gupta viewed that excellence has different parameters in different situation. However some common parameters should be upheld. He exhibited his satisfaction for holding such evince at broader perspective so that opportunities for growth are uncovered. Chairperson of Sacred Heart College of Education Rajni Bala while welcoming the guest assured to hold academic and non academic actitivities in the college to make it hub of multi dimensional activities. Dr. G Q Sheikh in his key note address viewed that excellence is a high cost item, the price for which is time, attention and focus. He further emphasized that colleges of education have to move towards building a shared commitment for paradigm shift in teacher education. |
