Dogra College of Education organizes science quiz competition | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 28: Dogra College of Education organized a science quiz competition on the occasion of National Science Day which is being celebrated every year to mark the discovery of Raman Effect by Indian Physicist Sir C. V. Raman. According to press release, on this occasion five teams namely Master Minds, Mind Bogglers, Mind Benders, Free Thinkers and Mind Readers consisting of five students each participated in the competition. The theme of the quiz was "Application of Science and Technology in the field of Education". Earlier, Shefali Sharma, Vice Principal of the college in her address said that National Science Day is celebrated as one of the main Science festivals in India in which students demonstrates various science projects as well as latest researches. It is being celebrated to widely spread a message about the significance of scientific applications in the daily life of the people. The programme was organized under the able guidance of Bela Thakur, Lecturer in Teaching of Science and also the Academic Coordinator of the college. She familiarized the students regarding the theme of the year 2015 "Science for Nation Building" and added that it would be the theme of celebrating Science day in the current year. Prof. B. D. Damral Director cum Principal Dogra College of Education highly appreciated the efforts put in by the students and staff members for organizing such healthy and Educative programmes. At the end, Team Mind Benders comprising of Ritu Bala, Bindu Bala, Neha Kumari, Agar Chander Pushap and Nisha Devi were declared winners. |
