| WDC provides education loan to girl students | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 21: J&K Women Development Corporation (WDC) has been providing to girl students education loan up to Rs 20 lakh at lowest interest rate in the country.
To aware the girl students about the schemes being run by the WDC, a awareness camp was organized today in the girl's hostel in collaboration with Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) administration. The awareness programme was organized on the directions of Prof IA Hamal, Vice Chancellor and was chaired by Choudhry Mohd Rashid, Registrar and Dean Student A ffairs while Nasreen Gul, district Manager WDC was present to aware the girl students about the government run schemes.
Prof. Irshad Hamal, VC while expressing his views said, "The scheme would be boon for those girl students whose parents can't meet the expenses of higher studies in the state and other parts of the country".
Terming the WDC's Educational Loan scheme as major help for the empowerment of women, Registrar said that BGSB University is sincere for women empowerment and that is why it has collaborated the event with WDC for the awareness of the girl students.
Nasreen Gul said that WDC is implementing various schemes like National Minorities Development (NMD), National Backward Classes Finance (NBCF), National Handicapped Finance (NHF), Empowering Skilled Yong Women Scheme, Skill Development (ESWS&SD) and Vocational Training Programmes (VTP). |
