Jammu, Mar 27: Activists of Muzaffar Hussan Baigh Friends Club staged protest against the national news channel for airing misinformation about Muzaffar Hussain Baig to malign his clean image under the banner Muzaffar Hussain Baig Friends Club on Friday. Addressing the gathering, Naveen Jain spokesperson Friends Club condemned the airing of news by national English news channel against Baig without ascertaining the facts. He said that Club would write a letter to Speaker Lok Sabha, Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Press Council of India to take action against the Channel and demanded the Editor-in-Chief of the Channel should tender written apology for this act.
Vikran Dhawan, General Secretary and PRO said that, "The point is when he was minister from 2002-07, he had made an arrangement to send his salary and allowances to Baramulla DC for distribution among widows and orphans. He never visited Hotel Ashok even for a cup of tea. Among those who were present during the protest included Arun Sharma, Prinak Jain, Surinder Dogra, Raj Pal Verma Obeid Baig and other activities. |
