Jammu robbed of AIIMS, initially announced by Union Finance Minister for this region: Harsh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 27: Accusing the coalition government of playing the biggest mischief and administering the most obnoxious doze of discrimination to Jammu region, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman today lambasted the BJP leadership for surrendering the Rs. 1600 crore AIIMS to Kashmir that was actually announced for Jammu region. Dispelling the misleading impressions being created by certain political parties and carried in a section of media that AIIMS was sanctioned for Kashmir, Harsh Dev Singh said that the Union Minister on 28th Feb. 2015 in New Delhi had categorically and in very unequivocal terms announced its establishment in Jammu. He said that the Finance Ministry's announcement was explicitly conveyed to the State and carried in various daily newspapers in their daily editions of Mar1, 2015. He further said that Dr. Jitender Singh the Union MoS had also issued a statement from New Delhi on 28th Feb., 2015 thanking the Finance Minister "for having sanctioned AIIMS for Jammu and institute of Film Production (IFP) for Arunachal Pradesh". Quoting Dr. Jitender Singh the MoS in PM's office and MP from Udhampur, Harsh Dev Singh said that the Union Minister had stated that "setting up of AIIMS at Jammu had been mooted by the then NDA Government headed by Atal Behari Vajpayee and the unfinished task has been completed by Narindra Modi Government with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley realizing the significance of having an institution like this in Jammu not only for improving the standards of Medical Education but also for reducing the exodus of seriously ill patients from this area to other parts of the country. He said that JKNPP would vigorously agitate against robbing of the highly prestigious institute by Kashmir centric leadership in connivance with Saffron Party and expose the obscene nudity of the highly profane act of BJP in surrendering to whims of its coalition partner on every issue. He said that JKNPP would start its protests and demonstrations against the highly mischievous designs of coalition govt. and for restoration of AIIMS to Jammu from tomorrow onwards |
