52 Beacon restores work on war footing | | | Early Times Report
Banihal, Mar 28: After the suspension of vehicular traffic movement on Jammu Srinagar National Highway for more than 36 hours 52 RCC BEACON started works for restoration of two way traffic at damaged portions of road on war footing at different places in between Ramban and Banihal. 52 RCC BEACON pressed heavy machinery into service to make road fit for two way traffic at damaged portions of Seri, Magerkoot, Gangroo and Hingni. Landslides damaged Jammu Srinagar National Highway severely at many places in between Ramban and Banihal. In this sector the width of road has shrunk many meters to a few feet. On these damaged portions of road commuters feel insecure to cross their vehicles. SK Meena OC 52 RCC BEACON informed media persons that in the sector Ramban and Banihal Jammu Srinagar national highway was damaged at more than five places. At kilometer number 151 near Ramban the road is now fit for two way vehicular traffic movement. However the restoration works at kilometer number 172 near Gangroo is likely to complete but damaged portion of road at kilometer number 168 near Magerkoot creates a little bid problem for making it for two way traffic. At the place of Magerkoot more than half part of road is eroded. |
