JKNPP holds protests against surrendering of AIIMS to Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 28: Launching a blistering and ferocious attack amid raising anti-discriminatory slogans against the sinister BJP-PDP coalition government for snatching after surrendering AIIMS to Kashmir, Panthers Party held protest demonstration (Dharna). The protest held spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP, Balwant Singh Mankotia State President JKNPP and Ex-MLA and Yashpal Kundal State President Young Panthers and Ex-MLA along with battalion of leaders and activists. Harsh Dev Singh admonished BJP for conceding AIIMS to Kashmir that was actually sanctioned for Jammu region just to appease its senior partner PDP at the cost of most coveted project and long cherished dream of the people of Jammu which was promised to them by the successive governments. He said that AIIMS is a premier edifice for health and medical education renowned for its finest standards of health care services and advanced research infrastructure. "Arun Jaitley Union Finance Minister in a budget session on 28th Feb 2015 in New Delhi explicitly announced an establishment of AIIMS in Jammu which was duly acknowledged by the Dr. Jitender Singh Union MoS who expressed his gratitude to the Finance Minister for sanctioning the premier health institute for Jammu. Moreover, the frustration and anger is brewing and seething among the masses which would anytime explode and blow the BJP to smithereens. He demanded immediate restoration of AIIMS to Jammu or else Panthers Party would launch and lead a colossal agitation to expose BJP and involve the people of Jammu to regain the premier health project at all costs. Expressing strong disapproval and resentment over the issue Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal lambasted the BJP for its criminal silence on bartering away AIIMS to Kashmir. He revealed that the NDA government headed by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had mooted the proposal for establishing the premier health institute in Jammu which was subsequently followed by laying of the foundation stone for AIIMS in Jammu by the then Union Health Minister Sushma Swaraj but the proposal gathered dust and was lost in the oblivion with the passage of time. "Jammu region needs an institute like AIIMS desperately which could provide back up to the inadequate and deficient medical infrastructure in the region. It would provide prompt and timely health care services to the ailing patients who are often referred to Chandigarh or New Delhi for their treatment due to the lack of medical facilities, " they stated. They further said the discrimination with Jammu region in the context of the shameful surrender of the premier health project by the Saffron Party to the whims of its coalition partner has reached the zenith and the people would not tolerate bias anymore. AIIMS belongs to Jammu and the non-restoration of the dream project would only prove disastrous to the health of socio-political stability of the state. |
