| MIER holds environmental awareness campaign | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 23 : To commemorate the 'Earth Day' an awareness campaign regarding environmental issues was conducted by the Environment Unit of MIER College of Education with an objective of developing a positive attitude towards environmental conservation among school students in the age group of 11 to 14 years.
A group of 15 members of the Unit went to Model Academy School to create awareness among the students of the school. They deliberated on issues related to conservation of natural resources like water, air and soil. Different strategies were also shared regarding saving the electricity and discontinuing the use of polythene bags in day-to-day life. The school students were impressed by the thought provoking ideas and were motivated to apply these ideas in their life. They also promised that they would be using eco-friendly products in order to save the environment. A lively discussion followed among the students.
The program was organized under the guidance of Mrs. Monika Bajaj, Convener Environment Unit MIER. She thanked the Principal of the school, Dr. Chitra Misra, for extending whole hearted support to the unit for conducting the program.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Director MIER appreciated the efforts of the Environment Unit in bringing about awareness among the school kids regarding the burning issue of conservation of resources. |
