Naeem lays foundation of IT Centre at K B Public School | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 23: Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar today said the socio-economic development of all sections of the society including Gujjar community is priority of the Government, adding all efforts are being for their welfare. The Minister said this after laying foundation stone of Information Technology Centre at K B Public Higher Secondary School, run by Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT) Jammu. He said there is urgency of transforming the education system in the State and asked the teaching fraternity to work with dedication and make it a mission to achieve literacy targets and motivate students to work hard for overall development of the society. Director School Education, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, Patron in Chief GDCT, Masud Ahmed Chaudhary, and other representatives of the organisation were present on the occasion. On the instructions of the Minister some students from mobile primary school, Lakker Mandi were also invited to witness the smart class and have a first-hand exposure to the new academic atmosphere. The Minister said that such endeavours will help generate awareness among students across all communities. Later, addressing a large gathering comprising representatives of the Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, staff and students of the school and members of the Gujjar community, the Minister said it is important that the students who are the future of the society remain connected to their traditions and culture, adding that they could play an important role in the development of the Gujjar community in particular and the society on the whole. Later, the Minister distributed prizes among the meritorious students and also released the School Magazine "Sitaron Se Age". |
