| DC Reasi inaugurates district library | | |  Early Times Report
REASI, Apr 23 : A modern district library with a collection of more than 3000 books was today inaugurated at mini secretariat Reasi by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Sushma Chauhan accompanied by General Manager Salal Power Station-AG Ansari.
ADC Reasi-Shiv Kumar Gupta, all district officers and officers from Salal Power Station were also present on the occasion. The District Library is a joint initiative of District Administration Reasi and Salal Power Station of NHPC Limited.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that this library would provide a rich learning environment to all the seekers of knowledge and facilities like these would bring the people back to libraries, adding that a large number of books are available in the library with the latest collection which are arranged, systematically language wise and subject wise. She called upon the people in general and youth in particular to avail these facilities, urging them to make book reading a habit. Chauhan appreciated the initiatives of Salal Power Station. While highlighting the importance of book reading in character building of a nation Ansari said that it has been one of the oldest human activities which enriches a reader mentally, spiritually and socially. |
