| Dorjey, Kohli to be elevated today | | | Bivek Mathur

Jammu, Apr 23: Two Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) Minister of States (MoS) viz Chering Dorjay holding Independent charge of MoS Cooperatives and Abdul Gani Kohli holding Independent charge MoS Transport are going to be elevated as Minister for State Cooperatives and Minister for State Transport respectively who will take oath of office by the Governor N N Vohra.
The elevation ceremony will begin at 12 p.m. here at Raj Bhawan, Jammu wherein the two BJP leaders will be administered oaths by the Governor of the state N N Vohra for which all party MLAs have been invited and are expected to participate in the same with the presence of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Deputy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh, Cabinet Ministers, Minister of States (MoS), Chief Secretary Mohd Iqbal Khandey and other administrative officers with other stake holders from different sectors.
With the elevation, Chering Dorjay will be Minister for State (Cabinet Minister) Cooperatives and Abdul Ghani Kohli Minister for State (Cabinet Minister) Transport. Er Kohli is the first muslim face in BJP camp with higher expectation . Further, with the elevation of the BJP leaders, their status of MoS Ladakh Affairs and MoS Rural Development will get automatically cancelled. With the elevation the strength of BJP's Cabinet Ministers will be eight along with 11 Cabinet Ministers from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Congress Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma has confirmed that Congress MLAs will also join the elevation ceremony of Dorjay and Kohlitomorrow. It is worthwhile to mention here that Daljeet Singh, BJP leader will also assume the chair of the Vice-Chairman, Kissan Advisory Board at 1 p.m here in Jammu. |
