Mir stresses upon need for use of e-governance tools | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 24 : Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Mohammad Ashraf Mir today took an introductory cum review meeting of Department of Industries and Commerce Jammu at Jawahar Lal Nehru Udyog Bhavan, Jammu. The meeting was attended by Director, Industries & Commerce, Jammu, Dr. Abdul Rashid, Joint Director (M&P), officers of the Directorate of Industries and General Managers of District Industries Centres of Jammu region. After being appraised about the overall functioning of the Department, the Minister said that the people of Jammu & Kashmir have given a clear mandate to the PDP-BJP Coalition Government for change in the model of governance. The old scenario in the state needs to be phased out so that the Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed along with the coalition partner BJP could realize the goal of peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir State. The issues related to shortage of field staff, dearth of land bank, lack of awareness among entrepreneurs & promotion of state & Centrally Sponsored Schemes in addition to issues related to provision of basic infrastructure such as uninterrupted power supply, road network, and clearance from Pollution Control Board etc were discussed in the meeting. The Minister stressed that interdepartmental panels should be set up to expedite the clearance of Industrial projects. The Minister stressed upon the need for the use of e-governance tools & best practices, in order to do away with red tapism for speedy clearances for industrial units. He also stressed upon the need for creation of Industrial Clusters with specific purpose of development of ancillary unit wherein all the feeding raw materials are manufactured locally for the use of other industrial units so as to foster sustainable & dynamic industrial estates. It was also emphasized that all centrally sponsored schemes such as flagship "Make in India" in addition to PMEGP; Tool Room Scheme etc should be harnessed for the Industrial Development of the State. He directed the concerned to come up with the factual position with regard to functional status of Industrial Units approved, actual employment generated & contribution of such units to the GDP of the state. He said that hardworking, dedicated & honest officers working for uplifting the Industrial scenario of the state would be suitable rewarded. |
