Scribe, his father among others booked for flaring communal tension | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 24: Kathua police today booked a local scribe working for an electronic news channel, his father and others for allegedly encroaching a piece of land and making bid to flare communal tension here on Friday. "The accused have been identified as scribe namely Shunty, his father Sujan Singh of Kathua and others for encroaching a piece of land situated at Logate Morh, police sources said. Sources said, "Three different FIRs 132, 133 and 134 were registered against a scribe, his father and others for allegedly encroaching piece of land, assault and making bid to flare communal tension in town." They added that the accused in a bid to claiming a piece of land allegedly attacked one Abdul Gani s/o Abdul Hussain of Logate when he was cultivating the piece of land which reportedly is owned by one Prem Singh. Thereafter the accused intercepted and assaulted one Noor Ahmed s/o Rehman Ali of Hiranagar when he was driving his motorcycle. "The incident was enough to flare up communal tension, however, police acting promptly rushed to the spot and pacified the agitating people before the situation gets out of control. When contacted a senior police officer confirming the incidents briefly said, police have lodge three different FIRs in this regard under appropriate sections of law of land. "A land dispute is stated to be the reason behind the incident, he said, "police have started investigation in this regard.' |
