SMVDU Organizes '1st National Case Study Conference' 4/25/2015 12:18:29 AM Early Times Report Katra, Apr 24: 1stNational Case Study Conference is beingorganized in the School of Business, Faculty of Management, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra, J&K from 24-26th April, 2015. The conference was inaugurated on 24th April 2015.The case study conference is first of its kind in order to disseminate the information regarding the case study methodology in research & business. Nishi Sharma, Vice President, J&K bank was the chief guest of the inaugural function of the conference. The case study conference is to promote the case study research method amongst the various fields of life and as a corporate and academic learning process. Dr. Saurabhconvener of the conference has described in his address that the case study conference is one of its unique concept in this region. He said that this conference will focus on the deliberations upon the requirement of the special acumen for development analysis as well as understanding the practice. Around 22 papers had been selected for presentations from various streams and more than 50 participants have come from all over india. Prof. D. Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Faculty of Management said that case study methodology is important to understand the dynamic business world. He said that this conference got resource persons from IIM's and leading institutions of india including Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Nishi Sharma, Vice President, J&K bank stressed upon the necessity of case based analysis for solving real world issues. She said that a school of business has been working upon contemporary issues and is leader in providing the best employable students in this region. Dr.AshutoshVashishtha, Director, School of Business has welcomed the guests and Dr. Jyoti Sharma delivered the vote of thanks. The case study conference shall cover the aspects of requirement of teaching cases, requirement of case methodologies and the various case methodologies.
