Vikramaditya Singh for all India Medical Institute in Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 24: Member Legislative Council (MLC) Vikramaditya Singh said that today's Jammu Bandh, in response to AIIMS being allocated for Kashmir, called by the National Conference, Congress Party and Chambers of Commerce raises a pertinent issue of lack of healthcare services in the Jammu region. He said attempts in the past to establish medical institutes such as the Super Specialty Hospital are well intentioned but lack follow up and maintenance as is seen with the shortfall and absence of medical staff, doctors and infrastructure. Vikramaditya Singh said that as Jammu is in desperate need for better medical facilities the Central Government should look at an AIIMS like medical institute for this region in addition to setting up an AIIMS in Srinagar. Vikramaditya also reinforced that he has full confidence and faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed who will take up the issue with the Central Government in expediting a medical institute for Jammu region. |
