SMVDU makes 15 promotions 4/27/2015 11:21:08 PM Jammu, Apr 27: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has made fifteen promotions under CAS, seventeen direct fresh recruitments of Assistant Professors in areas ranging from Engineering, Sciences and Literature and promoted seven faculty members at Assistant Professor level to Associate Professor level in different Schools of the University. According to press release, this promotion is the first ever direct promotion of substantial faculty members of the University in the open direct recruitment particularly during the times when country is facing dearth of teachers at Associate Professor and Professor Level in various Universities and Institutes. The seven candidates who have been appointed Associate Professors fulfilled the norms of UGC and possessed good service record in the University besides other eligibilities associated with the promotion which was not a Career Advancement Scheme ( CAS) but a direct recruitment. The selection procedure was stringent for all candidates where they had to make presentation of their research work in front of selection committee comprising of experts from IIT Delhi , University of Delhi and other universities. As an outcome of the vision of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sudhir K. Jain, the seven Assistant Professors promoted to Associate Professors are: Dr. Suparn Sharma, Dr. Ashutosh Vashist, Dr. Jyoti Sharma in the College of Management; Dr. Vandhana Sharma in the School of Languages and Literature; Dr. Varun Tripathi in the School of Philosophy and Culture; Dr. Sharda Potukuchi in the School of Biotechnology and Dr. Amit Kant Pandit in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
