| Indoor Swimming Pool at KC Sports Club inaugurated with great fanfare | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 27: The long-awaited Indoor Swimming Pool at KC Sports Club promoted by Sudarshan Mahajan-Raju Chowdhary Group and an Arjun Chowdhary was inaugurated here today evening.
Chander Prakash Ganga, Minister for Industries & Commerce, Government of Jammu & Kashmir who was the Chief Guest formally declared the pool open after unveiling the inaugural plaque in an impressive inaugural ceremony. The function witnessed an assembly of prominent citizens of Jammu specially invited on the occasion.
After the inaugural function, the Chief Guest Minister for Industries & Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga accompanied with BJP MLC Ashok Khajuria took a tour of the Club and observed the members engaged in various fitness and health activities.
After making around of the club, chief guest said that KC Sports Club is doing yeoman's service to the people of Jammu by providing them world class indoor sports and fitness facilities. "The Club would prove effective in channelizing the energies of young and adolescent teenagers into a positive direction and provide them relief from the scourge of various negative influences they fall prey to in the contemporary society, he said, adding, "the Club would play a significant role in shaping national and international level sportspersons from the State of Jammu & Kashmir."
Club management giving technical specifications of the new facility stated that indoor swimming pool include 20 meters long all-weather indoor swimming pool is located on the ground floor of the Club in a spacious area measuring about 4500 sq ft. KC Sports Club is the first of its own kind indoor sports complex not only in J&K but also in north India. Spread over 3 double height storeys and provides world class indoor sporting and recreational facilities in an air-conditioned space of about 60000 sq ft. KC Club also houses a state-of-the-art ultra-modern Gym fitted with Cybex gym equipment, rock climbing wall within the gym, two multi-purpose halls on the ground floor offer a wide range of sports such as table tennis, creative dancing, aerobics, Yoga and etc. With the commissioning of the indoor swimming pool, the ground floor of the Club has now turned fully functional. The club activities also include an Intensive coaching in the game is being provided to the young Cricket aspirants of Jammu in collaboration with Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence (YSCE). |
