RSC of Indian Army celebrates Raising Day | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 27: Rising Star Corps of the Indian Army today, celebrated its 11th Raising Day with great fervour and gaiety. A series of events were organised to commemorate the occasion from 24th to 27th April 2015. The celebrations commenced with a Trekking Expedition to the lofty 15000 ft high Indrahar Pass in the Dhauladhar Ranges. This was followed by a Blood Donation Camp, organized in co-ordination with the Armed Forces Transfusion Centre, New Delhi. The overwhelming response saw a record number of over 400 units of blood being donated by the Army men and their families. The Raising Day, began with tributes being paid by all ranks to the gallant martyrs at the Yol Fort Memorial. The General Officer Commanding addressed the troops in a Special Sainik Sammelan. While applauding all ranks for their hard work and devotion, the General Officer Commanding mentioned that the Corps in its ten years of existence, has marched from strength to strength and acquitted itself commendably in the sensitive Jammu region. Certificates of Excellence were awarded by the General Officer Commanding to achievers for distinguished performance over the last year. |
