| HC directs Secy GAD to file status report on PRO's Assets | | Petition seeking withdrawal of Security of Ex-PRO to DyCM | | Jammu, Apr 27 : In a significant order, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today in a petition directed Commissioner/Secretary GAD to file a detail status report regarding the enquiry entrusted to SVO into the alleged accumulation of disproportionate assets of Kewal Sharma then Additional PRO to Ex-Deputy CM.
Justice Bansi Lal Bhat granted three week's time to Kewal Sharma to file his reply within a period of three weeks and directed Registry to list this petition for further proceedings on May 21, 2015.
During the course of hearing Sr. Adv MK Bhardwaj submitted that his client Kewal Sharma is still having the threat perception and directions be issued to the police to restore the security which has been withdrawn due to the pendecy of this petition.
He further submitted that security had been provided to Kewal Sharma because of threat to his life and he still needs the security cover. Adv SS Ahmed drew the attention of the Court to the latest status report filed by Mukesh Singh IGP (Personnel) PHQ in which it was submitted that on the verbal report lodged in police post Poni Chak wherein Raj Kumari Sharma w/o Kewal Sharma had expressed apprehension threat to the life of her husband. The status report further said that then SSP Jammu Atul Goel transferred two police officials namely Ghulam Qadir and Kewal Shingh from P/S Pacca Danga to DPL Jammu for their further attachment as PSOs with Kewal Sharma. The status report further says that on July 27, 2013 on the verbal direction of then SSP Jammu a guard comprising of four officials was deputed for the first time and said the Guard was subsequently changed by supplementing with another guard comprising of four police official and this continued up to October 10, 2014 when on the verbal orders of the present SSP Jammu Uttam Chand the Guard was withdrawan.
The Status report further said that one PSO had already been deployed prior to this incident with Kewal Sharma on the verbal orders of then SSP Jammu Anand Jain with date of deployment as December 3, 2011.
The said PSO was subsequently changed with another PSO over the period of time and this process of deployment continued up to October 15, 2014 when on the verbal orders of present SSP Jammu, PSOs were withdrawn from Kewal Sharma.
