KISHTWAR, Apr 27: After announcing the distribution of Permanent Residence Certificates (PRC's), the government of Jammu and Kashmir has decided to distribute RBA and Caste Certificates in school children's at school level across the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The step according to the government is aimed to provide basic services to the people at doorstep.
While talking to "Early Times" Minister of State for Revenue, R&B Sunil Sharma said that the project has been named as MADAD (Mission Delivery At Doorstep), added that under the project, Revenue department will provide the PRCs, RBA and Caste certificates at school level across the state. The program started with the introduction of project MADAD by Tehsildar Kishtwar. Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sharma said that this project which is being implemented at pilot basis in Kishtwar, shall be extended to whole state shortly, added that the new initiative of the government will not only revolutionize the whole working of Revenue department, but only strengthen the faith of people in the state institutions."The Revenue officials will visit the schools with their records and then match school record of children and prepare their certificates--- this will also eradicate the menace of corruption in issuance of these certificates and at the same time the children and their parents will not suffer unnecessarily" Sharma said. He also appreciated the hard work of district administration in making this project possible and said that this should now become a model for whole state. On the occasion, the minister on this occasion distributed 100 PRCs, RBA and Caste certificates among the school children.Later MoS Revenue also chaired an all party meeting attended by MLC Firdous Tak, officials of District Administration, police, prominent citizen's, social activists & representatives of all major political parties. The participants highlighted various burning issues being faced by the people including the condition of Batote-Kishtwar Road, health, education, shortage of essential commodities and rural infrastructure. It is pertinent to mention that decision of distribution of PRC's at school level has drawn a flaw from Kashmir based politician who accuses that the MoS revenue new policy is aimed at providing State Subjects to refugees and outsiders which could change the population ratio of only muslim state of the country, the charges denied by MoS Revenue.
