| Anganwari workers protest enters 3rd day | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 28: A massive protest and demonstration of Anganwari workers and helpers under the banner of J&K Trade Union Front entered into third day today in front of Press Club Jammu.
According to press release, they have been protesting, what they called, the anti working class and anti Anganwari worker, helper termination order issued by State Mission Director ICDS, J&K Jammu vide his order No. 13 SMD of 2015 dated 22.04.2015 who have been working in the ICDS for the last more than 10 years and have got departmental training of Anganwari workers for three months and also other required courses in the ICDS wing.
The number of such Anganwari workers and helpers who have been terminated by this order is in thousands. Prior to 1999 all such appointments were to be made by CDPO in ICDS and later on they were promoted as Supervisor also. Their appointment and to follow the proper procedure was the responsibility of authorities who during this long period miserably failed to fulfill the required procedure for the no fault of poor Anganwari workers and helpers.
While addressing protesting workers and helpers Veteran Trade Union Leader Mohd. Gafoor Dar State President J&K National Trade Union Front condemn the callous attitude of the State Government particularly the ICDS Minister Bali Ram Bhagat who has started harassing and victimizing the poor Anganwari workers and helpers by issuing termination orders with malafide intention to enroll his own people in the ICDS by snatching away the "Daal Fulka" of these poor Anganwari workers and helpers. Dar appealed Chief Minister to intervene personally in the matter to save these poor workers from this termination order. |
