We won't allow loot of land, Channi Himmat residents tell Dy CM | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 28 : Residents of Channi Himmat Housing Colony are up in arms against the alleged nexus between officials of JK Housing Board and a land mafia. The residents alleged the board officials are keen on allotting green patch of land to big business houses for raising new market in clear violation of the original Master Plan. On Tuesday, a delegation of senior residents of the Housing Colony even called on Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh who also holds charge of the Urban Development and Housing Ministry to apprise him of the alleged move by the corrupt babus to allot shops to businessmen. The residents said that instead of checking rampant encroachment of land, the JK Housing Board officials were deliberately siding with the land mafia and other vested interests to sell small plots for shops and other business enterprises. During their interaction with the Deputy Chief Minister, the members of the delegation also made it clear that under no circumstances they would allow the Housing Board to indulge in open loot of the green gold by way of raising shops and that if required they would go to the court of law to seek justice. Coming out of the meeting the residents of the Housing Colony said they were not happy with the response of the Deputy Chief Minister as he failed to give them any assurance over the issue. |
