| Bali Bhagat distributes cheques, scooters among beneficiaries | | |  Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, May 2: With an aim to deliver best of public services to people at their doorsteps, Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology & Environment, Bali Bhagat distributed about 500 cheques and invoices besides scooters for physically handicapped under various benefit and welfare schemes of Social Welfare Department in meeting hall of DC Office Kishtwar the other day. The cheques and invoices were distributed under National Family Benefit Scheme, National Formation for Communal Harmony, Indra Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Integrated Social Security Scheme, Indra Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme and Schemes for Physically Handicapped. While speaking on the occasion, Bhagat stressed on the organising awareness camps at each Block level, besides District Social Welfare Officer Kishtwar was directed to conduct surprise visits for ensuring punctuality of anganwadi workers and helpers at anganwadi centres. On ensuring the transparency in the Department, Minister asked the authorities to display the nutrition stock at each Anganwadi centre at a conspicuous places. He informed that a comprehensive nutrition procurement policy is in offing in which tendering procedure will be made mandatory for the procurement of nutrition besides the procured material will be tested for quality at multi levels viz Laboratory level, District headquarter and at Anganwadi Centre Level. |
