BJP, PDP to provide stable, corruption free Govt in State | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 3: Senior leaders belonging to the PDP and BJP allege that some mainstream political parties, especially the National Conference and the Congress, were trying to fuel unrest which could bring the ruling coalition under fresh stress and strain. These leaders referred to the way the National Conference and Congress leaders were trying to hold the coalition Government responsible for the row over AIIMs issue. They said that during the six year coalition rule of the NC and the Congress separatists had remained active and had not missed any opportunity for displaying anti-India sentiments. And if these separatists have started repeating their old strategy of displaying anti-India sentiments the NC and the Congress leaders lose no time in blaming the ruling coalition for patronizing the separatists. A senior PDP leader said that if Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed, had ordered release of Masarat Alam he was simply trying to implement a court order. And when Masarat Alam indulged in activities which were prejudicial to peace and security of the state it was the same Government that rearrested Alam under the PSA. The PDP leader has requested the alliance partner, the BJP, not to create problem for the state Government. In this context the PDP leader referred to the BJP's plan on raising the problem of refugees. The PDP leader said that Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed, has accepted the plea for treating the refugees' issues on a humanitarian basis but under the state Law granting citizenship rights to West Pakistan refugees was not possible. He said if any move was initiated it would open floodgates of conflicts and security instability. He appealed to the BJP to cooperate with the PDP so that the ruling coalition was able to provide to people of Jammu and Kashmir a stable and corruption free Government. The state and its people want all round development so that problems including unemployment and poverty were tackled. |
