Lecture on life style diseases organized

Jammu, May 3: The Rashtriya Rifles located at Bhadarwah under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) conducted lecture cum medical camp on life style diseases for local masses of Tehsil Bhadarwah, as a part of humanitarian assistance programme on May 3, 2015at Bhalla, Bhadarwah.
The Army doctor from Rashtriya Rifles at Bhadarwah delivered a lecture on prevention of lifestyle disease to locals. During the lecture the Army Doctor brought out that lifestyle diseases include atherosclerosis, heart disease, heart stroke, obesity, type2 diabetes, and diseases associated with smoking, alcohol and drug abuse. Regular physical activity helps prevent obesity, heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, colon cancer and premature mortality. A medical camp was organised after the lecture in which medicines were distributed to the patients.
Two killed, one injured in mishap

Kishtwar, May 3: In a tragic accident in Kishtwar District, two persons died while another one was injured when a Scorpio car bearing registration No JK17 -1103 met with an accident near Malipath. As per the details available with Early Times, the ill-fated vehicle was on its way from Kishtwar to nearby village Melan when the driver lost control over his vehicle and it skidded off into 350 feet deep gorge. The incident resulted into the death Muzaffer Hussain (25 yrs) son of Javid Ahmed Ganie and Sajjad Hussain (24 yrs) son of Gullah Ganie both resident of Melan Kishtwar, while another person identified by the police as Sahid Hussain son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Hasti Kishtwar was injured who was later shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar where he is presently undergoing treatment. Police have also registered an FIR and started investigation.
7-yr old girl battles for life after rape

Jammu, May 3: A seven-year-old girl is battling for her life in a local hospital after she was allegedly raped by a youth who abducted her from near her house in Domana area, police said today. The accused, identified as Sohan Lal (23), a resident of Domana area of the district, yesterday abducted the girl when she went to a nearby shop to purchase some paraphernalia.
"He took her to a secluded place and raped her there. The accused also threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told about the incident to anyone," police said.
The girl later narrated the incident to her parents who then lodged a complaint with police. A police official said the medical examination of the girl confirmed rape and her condition is stated to be critical. "She has sustained several severe internal injuries. Her internal organs have ruptured," the official said.
The accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections of Ranbir Penal Code.
