Azad lends support to AIIMS for Jammu | BJP-PDP joined hands for power alone | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 3: Taking essence of the anguish within Jammu region over couple of issues since PDP-BJP coalition government took over, former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad stepped in to assuage the emotions and attack ruling dispensation Terming the curling coalition as power hungry, leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha said BJP -PDP came together only for the sake of power otherwise these there was no common ideological meeting point between the two and it was for this reason people of the state have not accepted their alliance. Addressing day long convention organized by the District (Urban & Rural) units of the state congress Azad said the alliances are always worked out between like minded parties having some sort of commonness in their ideologies but the present coalition between two ideologically opposite forces is not based on any principles in politics and is totally unholy. He said that it was UPA government during which all three regions of the state have witnessed equitable development .He said that two central universities were sanctioned besides to cancer institutes in both the regions besides one Ayurvedic college in Jammu and one Unani College in Kashmir. He said that one Super Specialty Hospital was simply announced by NDA government which was without any clearance and funding but UPA government not only sanctioned this Super Specialty Hospital in Jammu but also similar hospital in Kashmir. He justified the demand for a separate AIIMS in Jammu in view of the peculiar situation in the state. |
