SPO dies of cardiac arrest as he couldn't bear son's death | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, May 18: In a shocking incident father of a 9th class student died due to cardiac arrest on Sunday within 24 hours of his son's death in village Dhanwan under the jurisdiction of Rajouri police station. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Rashid, an SPO in Police, who could not bear the death of his deceased son Mohammad Asif, who was a brilliant student of 9th class and the family belongs to Below Poverty Line (BPL) category. On Friday evening hours Mohammad Asif went to nearby forest to bring a buffalo back to home that was left for grazing. As he was moving on Jammu-Poonch highway holding the rope, buffalo started running and attempted escape as it was frightened by the repeated movement of heavy vehicles. As Asif was holding the rope he fell down on the road and unfortunately the rope tangled around his neck and was dragged to some distance. In this process he received fatal injuries on head and was rescued by the people and was later shifted to District Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. As the body of the boy reached home late in the night the father, who was a heart patient, traumatized to see the body of his only son and reportedly got fainted. On Sunday evening Mohd Rashid, SPO received another heart attack and later died due to cardiac arrest. It was a double shock for the family members (three daughters and wife) and other relatives. Everybody in the village was in a state of shock and it was beyond their imagination that the destiny will struck the family in such a cruel way. Meanwhile, Rajouri police under the supervision of SSP Dr Haseeb Mughal extended every possible help including financial help to the family members in this hour of grief. DSP Headquarter Hamid Chowdhry, along with DSP, DPL visited the family and also attended the burial ceremony of deceased SPO today. "District police have extended every possible help to the grieved family and also provided financial help. Other help including financial, under rules, will also be extended to the family in future also and if found eligible one of the family members will also be absorbed as SPO in the police force," said SSP Dr Haseeb Mughal. |
