Srinagar: An organisation of Jammu and Kashmir government employees on Monday said it will gherao civil secretariat, the seat of the state government, on May 28 to press for regularisation of daily wagers and casual labourers working in many departments. "The employees will go for secretariat gherao to press the government for the regularisation of daily wagers, casual labourers, seasonal, temporary workers and against the dilly-dallying policy of the government towards this issue," president, Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), Qayoom Wani told reporters here.
Wani appealed to all categories of employees to participate in the protest. He said that if the government uses force "as it has been using in the past to quell such protests", the agitation would be intensified. |
