JKGB Sarore holds financial literacy camp on PM's social security schemes | | | Early Times Report
Sarore, May 18: Jammu and Kashmir Grameen Bank (JKGB) Sarore in association with NABARD today organized a financial literacy camp on recently launched Prime Minister's social security schemes. Ram Maurti Sharma, coordinator Mahesh Farmers Club was chief Guest while Ram Pal Sharma, Branch head was presided over the function wherein more than 150 people of Sarore and adjoining villages participated. Speaking on the occasion, Ram Pal Sharma informed the participants regarding benefits of newly launched social security schemes namely Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (accident insurance) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana (life insurance). Sharma said that these schemes has been designed to provide security cover to poor population, particularly who are working in unorganized sector. He asked people to avail the benefits of union government's schemes through nearest Grameen Bank branch. In his address Ram Murti Sharma, appreciated the initiative of Bank to make villagers familiar with scheme. He also explained the benefits of farmers clubs for empowerment of agriculturist. While addressing the participants, Mukesh Kumar Sagotra, Assistant Manager of the Branch said that having a bank account is the first step towards financial empowerment. He said that Grameen Bank is having many products aimed on empowerment of farmers, agriculturists, young entrepreneurs and women. He appealed villages to ensure that each family has a Bank account so that 100 percent financial inclusion can be a reality, so that these benefits should reach at lowest level. Prominent others who spoke on the occasion were Sagar Singh Sarpanch, Pawan Kumar, Chajju Ram, Sagar Mal and Surinder Singh. |
