| HC orders status-quo over 'land allotment' of Thanger for commercial use | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 18: In a petition filed by residents of Channi Himmat seeking restraining to the respondents from converting the land retrieved by virtue of construction of Thanger Nallah, Channi Himmat into commercial sites in violation of Master Plan, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat of J&K High Court Jammu Wing today ordered that status-quo vis-à-vis land retrieved by virtue of construction of Thanger Nallah into commercial site be maintained till next date of hearing. After hearing Sr. Adv BS Salathia with Adv Meenakshi Slathia appearing for the petitioners, issued notices to Commissioners/Secretaries to Finance, Tourism, Housing and Urban Development, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, MD J&K Housing Board, Commissioner Municipal and Chief Executive Officer ERA returnable within two weeks while hearing the petition. Meantime State High Court ordered that subject to objections from other side and till next date before the Bench status-quo vis-à-vis land retrieved by virtue of construction of Thanger Nallah into commercial site be maintained. Petition also submitted that there are different earmarked in the Channi Himmat Housing Colony for creation of Green Belt Parks but MD J&K Housing Board is trying the same into commercial site to determent constructional rights of the petitioner. |
