MENDHAR, May 18: During a surprise checking of health institutes here today, the chief medical officer (CMO), Poonch, found primary health centre (PHC), Harni, locked, following which he ordered the suspension of all its nine employees, including two Medical Officers (MOs). CMO, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti, who was accompanied by Mendhar BMO (Block Medical Officer), Dr Pravez Ahmad Khan, and other officers of the Health Department, reached Harni PHC at about 12 noon. There was no employee at the PHC which was found locked, according to official sources. On the direction of Dr Bhatti, Dr Pravez placed under suspension two MOs - Dr Om Prakash Sharma (ISM) and Dr Shakil Ahmad - and seven other employees of the PHC -Nabeel Fatma, Zaheen Akhtar and Rubina Sultana, all junior staff nurses (JSNs), laboratory technician Tariq Khan, FMPHW Salima Akhtar, Abdul Majid (safaiwala) and pharmacist (ISM) Abdul Aziz Shah. Both the MOs were chargesheeted, sources said. All of them had been attached with sub-district hospital (SDH), Mendhar. In their place, JSN Tahira Sultana, safaiwala Mohammad Rafiq, nursing orderly Mohammad Kabir and laboratory technician Mohammad Irshad were posted at Harni PHC, the sources added. In Dhargloon PHC, laboratory technician Khalid Abdullah, FMPHW Shaneez Akhtar and pharmacist (ISM) Mohammad Ashraf were found absent. FMPHW Nasreen Akhtar was found absent at health sub-centre, Basooni. All of them were suspended. While carrying out the inspection of Basooni sub-centre, the CMO found that FMPHW Rubina Kousar was not observing the dress code. She was issued a warning and fined Rs 500, sources said. |
