Mid-Day Meals siphoned for black-marketing, one held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 18: In yet another instance of embezzlement of Midday Meals Scheme, the Poonch police claimed to have arrested one shopkeeper while unloading Mid-Day Meal supply meant for the Govt Middle School Hari Safada in Surankote The accused has been identified as Abdul Khaliq s/o Mohd Hussain of Eidgah Marhote-Surankote, police sources said. "Acting on a specific input regarding misappropriation of ration items of the Mid-Day Meal scheme, SHO Surankote Insp Masoof Ahmed Mirza alongwith police party of P/S Surankote conducted raid in the premises of private shop of Abdul Khaliq s/o Mohd Hussain of Eidgah Marhote-Surankote on the directions of SSP Poonch Jatinder Singh Johar, police said. Police sources said that police team has seized 13 bag Mid-Day Meal ration alongwith 04 bags of dalia containing 100 packets which was meant for Middle School Hari Safada but was being unloaded at a private grocery shop of Abdul Khaliq. "Shopkeeper Abdul Khaliq has been arrested on spot and more arrests are expected during investigation, police sources said, adding, "a case against FIR No. 94/2015 U/S 409,109 RPC, 3/7 ECA registered at P/S Surankote." |
